I know we haven’t yet celebrated Christmas, but it will be January before we know it (what a scary thought – where did this year go?!). And January is the month for trying new things, making resolutions (and hopefully sticking to them), and generally just looking forward to a better year than the one we leave behind.
One movement that has grown each year and is worth a try is Veganuary. It’s taking the pledge to go vegan for the entire month – so whether you are a vegetarian already on the road to veganism, or a meat eater looking to reduce your consumption, this is the perfect time to do it. The veganuary website is a great resource – on it you will find recipes, articles, interviews, tips and tricks to help you make it through the month without animal products.
So what do you think – if you’re not already vegan, will you give it a go? I’d be interested in hearing from you in the comments below. And of course, always happy to offer support if you need. Feel free to contact me on Twitter or drop me a line at Leicesterveggie@yahoo.co.uk.
Happy Holidays!
Maybe a new restaurant that is vegan friendly?
I went on 13/12/15 to Las Iguanas on Belvoir Street in Leicester, to celebrate my 3rd anniversary with my partner and was surprised to find they have a vegan menu as well as a gluten free one.
So being both vegan & gf this was great for me.
Las Iguanas has a Mexican / Latin American based menu and is a fun place so I do recommend this to fellow vegans; they also have a very nice vegan dessert ‘Tembleque’ which I can recommend even though I’m not a big dessert fan
Yes – Las Iguanas is great for vegans! I have been a few times (still need to do a review), and am always impressed by the menu. I think 2016 will definitely bring even more vegan-friendly restaurants to Leicester.
